ELASTIC reimagines the Cycladic landscape at Luura Cliff, transforming the raw terrain of Paros into a contemporary labyrinth shaped by light, stone, and movement. Our intent was to reinterpret the essence of the traditional Chora, its flowing paths, layered thresholds, and interplay of shadow and geometry into a refined hospitality experience that feels both rooted and modern, where architecture emerges naturally from the landscape rather than being imposed upon it.

ELASTIC was entrusted with the architectural design of the complex, creating a cohesive composition of guest units and shared spaces orchestrated around the central pool, terraced dining, and secluded wellness areas. In collaboration with Lamps & Lions on the interiors, the project balances Cycladic simplicity with contemporary elegance, crafting an immersive journey where every path, view, and transition connects seamlessly with the Aegean horizon.

ELASTIC approached the design of Luura Cliff as a study in materiality, proportion, and spatial layering, where architecture is defined through the precise articulation of stone, light, and geometry. The project develops through a composition of clean volumes and horizontal lines, carefully embedded into the terrain to establish a sense of continuity between built form and landscape.

The design emphasizes tactility and contrast. Rough stone surfaces meet smooth white planes, while timber pergolas introduce warmth and softness, filtering natural light and creating a dynamic play of shadow throughout the day. Each element is designed to enhance sensory perception, allowing the user to experience architecture not only visually, but physically through texture, scale, and transition.

Spatial organization is driven by clarity and flow. Circulation routes are integrated seamlessly into the design, defined by low walls and subtle level changes that guide movement intuitively. Public and private areas are layered with intention, creating gradations of privacy while maintaining a strong visual connection to the sea and the surrounding landscape.

Through a restrained and refined design language, Luura Cliff achieves a balance between solidity and lightness. The result is a cohesive architectural identity where every detail from material junctions to shading structures, contributes to an environment that feels grounded, elegant, and inherently connected to its Cycladic context.

Set on the western coast of Paros, LUURA CLIFF reimagines an existing building cluster as a contemporary labyrinth inspired by the spirit of the Cycladic Chora. White, minimalist volumes are woven together by stone walls and layered pathways that guide movement and frame views, gradually revealing the sea as the project’s constant point of orientation.

At its core, a central pool anchors the shared amenities, including dining, wellness, event spaces, and a small chapel, all unified by pergolas that provide shade and continuity. Integrated into the sloping landscape, the open‑air restaurant unfolds through terraced levels, blending architecture, gastronomy, and terrain.

Artworks punctuate key moments along the routes, acting as spatial markers within the labyrinth and reinforcing the hotel’s art‑driven identity. Designed by Elastic Architects with interiors by Lamps & Lions, LUURA CLIFF brings together landscape, Cycladic typology, and contemporary design into a cohesive and experiential hospitality setting.
