Concept Design

The design for One&Only Fiji is rooted in the essence of traditional Fijian architecture, reinterpreted through a contemporary approach.

The design ambition was to establish the project’s own distinctive identity and architectural vocabulary through simple volumes, expressive pitched roofs, generous overhangs, and open-air spaces that respond to the natural settings of the place.                                                                                                                                                                 Natural materials, crafted textures and contemporary detailing reinterpret Fiji’s architectural heritage, creating a timeless and refined language.

The resort is conceived as a collection of human-scale pavilions immersed within the tropical landscape, arranged in a village composition evoking the character of the traditional Fijian settlement’s while preserving the authenticity of the place and prioritizing human experience over monumentality.                                                              Each pavilion is carefully oriented to capture distinctive views and create memorable moments, establishing a continuous dialogue between the guest, the architecture and the surrounding landscape, where nature remains the protagonist.

The result is a cohesive architectural vision that celebrates the spirit of Fiji while establishing a distinctive and timeless identity for One&Only Fiji.
