Taking on the interior design of the two luxury F&B venues, ELASTIC aspired to capture the dynamic essence of surfing. The venues combine fluid architectural elements with a profound connection to nature, offering visitors an immersive experience that echoes the thrill of riding the ocean waves.

Inspired by the exhilarating interaction between surfers and the ocean, ELASTIC’s design concept brings the euphoria of surfing into every space. The spatial choreography is driven by the intensity, rhythm, and balance of a surfer’s movement, translating the fluidity of waves into architectural forms that seamlessly blend the natural environment with modern design. The centerpiece of this experience is one of the largest artificial wave pools in the world, providing a dramatic and thrilling focal point.

The architectural approach embraces organic materials, warm hues, and layered lighting that emulate the natural flow of waves. Defined lines and pastel colors further enhance the sense of calmness and serenity, particularly as guests transition from the energetic atmosphere of sunrise to the peaceful beauty of the sunset.

ELASTIC’s vision was to create spaces that embody the sensation of surfing—immersing oneself in the waves and emerging with a deep connection to the natural setting. At Ilios Beach Club and Nalu Surf Club, we captured that journey in the design, allowing visitors to experience the thrill and tranquility of the ocean in an innovative and engaging environment.

Natural light and ventilation are maximized throughout the venues, ensuring that the spaces remain open, bright, and breezy—mirroring the surfer’s bond with wind and water. Communal areas were designed to encourage social interaction, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and connection among guests, much like the sense of community inherent in the sport of surfing.
